Energy Performance Certificate

What is an Energy Performance Certificate?

An EPC is a component part of the Home Information Packs, (HIPs).
EPC’s inform homebuyers and sellers about a home’s energy efficiency.

The data collected will include information on dimensions, construction, heating and other services provided to the property. This data is inputted into an approved software system that will generate the report, a graphic display that rates the property’s current efficiency and carbon output.

An EPC is the final product that results from the inspection by the DEA and will have an A to G rating, (similar to efficiency ratings displayed on domestic appliances).

The certificate makes recommendations for improvements that can be made to cut fuel bills and carbon emissions.
